VBP+ represents both certified and trained beef producers and operations across Canada. The following metrics are compiled monthly to track progress and show the increasing commitment of Canadian beef producers to continuous improvement.
The head counts represent the total number of head under the management of VBP+ certified operations and then represented by the number of head by each sector. The number of operations represents certified operations which manage cattle represented by the head counts. The total number of certified operations is further represented by the level of certification.
Finally, there is the representation of the number of producers who have taken VBP/VBP+ training. VBP+ represents producers trained after 2016 when new training on new modules was introduced. On-Farm Food Safety training numbers represent producers who received training prior to 2016 when only the On-Farm Food Safety training was available.
Coming soon, we will be adding the metric for the number of acres under the management of VBP+ certified operations.
